Protecting cinema and human artistry in the age of AI
Why Project Celluloid Exists
Project Celluloid is dedicated to preserving the craft of human filmmaking — and human artistry more broadly. As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms creative industries, the knowledge, intuition, and lived experience of artists risk being overshadowed by increasingly automated tools.
Through grants, masterclasses, and a growing archive of filmmaking knowledge, Project Celluloid supports artists who believe that cinema is fundamentally a human endeavor — shaped by collaboration and lived experience.
Our mission is to ensure that the traditions of art and filmmaking are not only preserved, but passed on to the next generation of storytellers.
